Creative Abilities’ annual reviews highlighted the need to provide literacy and numeracy classes for clients. We partnered with Literacy North Shore, who assessed each client to identify what level of support each individual would need to improve their skills.

Literacy North Shore provides professional, accessible, student-centred literacy and numeracy support to improve employment opportunities and quality of life for individuals in New Zealand. The following people graduated in November after completing approximately 40 hours each of education:

  • Kay Clark
  • Bradley Grannall
  • Danielle Fitton
  • Maria Williamson
  • Henning Noom

Feedback from Participants:

“It was very good. I learnt about money, how to count and how to spend wisely. I improved my reading skills and enjoyed the time with friends learning together”.

“I learnt how to count money and I learnt how to read more. I really enjoyed it. I liked the teacher and I enjoyed being part of the Santa parade for Literacy North Shore”.

“I loved the reading and I loved the way the teacher was being really nice to me, showing me how to use the iPad. I loved the way the teacher gave me dot to dot”.
